Edvard Munch is the perfect artist for both Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and Knut Hamsun’s Hunger. Bravo, Penguin Classics! Munch, who is a contemporary of both Ibsen and Hamsun, captures the madness and uncertainty of both works with his 1894 painting Anxiety (which is incorrectly identified as Agony on the back cover of A Doll’s House – tsk tsk!).
We finally took those ugly bars off the front of the store! It looks so much more inviting and open now, just in time for this beautiful spring weather.

Today marks our 1 Year Anniversary at The Yellow Book. We’ve sold hundreds of books, accepted tons of donated books, hosted a bunch of great events and made a zillion friends. Thanks to all who have supported us over this past year. We are looking forward to the future and can’t wait for the years to come!
We just got the entire Time-Life Old West set for sale here at The Yellow Book! All 26 volumes are packed with beautiful color photos detailing the adventures of indian chiefs, ranchers, soldiers, women, canadians, loggers and cowboys (just to name a few). Come take a look, or just watch this commercial from 1980. Yee-haw!
